Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! It’s Saturday morning, and I’m working hard on my thesis which is due by the end of the week! I’m definitely panicking because I keep finding more things that need to be added, changed, edited, or improved. I never realized how much work a thesis really is. The writing and editing can go on and on forever, but at some point I just have to stop myself and let go of the process. I’m crossing my fingers right now in the last stretch and praying it all turns out okay! In any case, I hope you all have a better weekend than me…
I probably won’t have much time to write posts this week, but I’ve been running across a lot of interesting articles and just had to post them!
- Imagine if the Tea Party was Black - by Tim Wise. An absolute must read; this insightful post puts us face to face with the prevalence of white privilege that still exists in the U.S.
- Toughest immigration law signed in Arizona - For obvious reasons, probably the worst news of the week. What are they thinking? This is blatant racial profiling and a complete violation of basic civil rights! Another good post on the topic.
- Uh oh… 1/4 of non-profits are to lose tax breaks!
- Pretty devastating news that shows just how far we have to go in terms of equal wages. Women will lose almost a million dollars to the wage gap over the course of their careers.
- South Asians and the law - the case for more involvement.
- A true story of China in Africa
- New Amnesty report about access to justice for Ugandan women
Enjoy
